Sequence 1/2010

Once again, I'm sitting here in Canada writing Sequence, a sign that yet another year has passed. One more precious year, a commodity of which we have too few. 2009 was a very eventful year. Apart from the economic crisis, a lot has happened over the past 12 months. You can read about the most important issues affecting Schubert here.
Our transmodule moved for the first time in June. This was a major step on the path to automatic tool changing, which is planned for exhibition at Interpack 2011. For more information, take a look at "An assembly that delivers what it promises" on PAGE 14. Small improvements were made to the TLM machine frame operating elements, and new carrier rails featuring a breadboard for quicker mounting were installed. The TLM-F3 robot for destacking the blank magazines proved itself of great value. In the meantime, a good 200 of them have been put to hard use.
The first packaging machine with a Schubert MES system was delivered (see"On the right way to MES" Page 60). In addition to the labelers from Pago, new partner components are now available, including the Fuji flowwrapper in the TLM machine frame (see Page 24, "Partner components"). After studying the host of examples in this issue of Sequences, you'll discover that Schubert produces the most flexible packaging machines in the world. The TLM represents pure pleasure in packaging, technology and flexibility. By purchasing a TLM packaging machine, you're investing in the future.
I'm pretty sure that in just a few years products will be produced "directly on trucks". All the evidence points in that direction, and our TLM machines will also feature automatic tool changing or fully-automatic product and size changing starting in 2012.
Page 44 features an article with my take on the crisis. Something like this simply can't be left out of a company newsletter. I know you're interested to know what I think about it.
