Innovation Rooted In Family Values

Pick "The Original"

Driven by Innovation,
Built by family

Schubert has been operating as a family-owned business for nearly 60 years.

As a global market leader, with over 800 picker lines sold and 8,000 robots in operation, we have always attributed our success to the innovation and determination of our staff, the trust and partnership of our customers; and the vision from our founder that has been passed down over the three generations. This has allowed us to operate independently, free from the pressure of investors. As a result, our strategy has always been to prioritise sustainability and longevity over short-term profit maximization.

Three generations, one vision

Gerhard Schubert

The late founder laid the foundation for today’s corporate group in 1966. He revolutionized the industry, notably by developing the world’s first packaging robot in 1981.

Ralf and Gerald Schubert

Now active managing directors, they have strategically and technologically advanced Schubert, solidifying its position as a global market leader. In 1995, Ralf Schubert invented the counterflow principle, a technology now used by all manufacturers of pick-and-place packaging machines.

Johannes, Peter, and Franziska Schubert

Three of the seven grandchildren have been shaping Schubert's future as members of the leadership team for several years. Johannes oversees sales at Gerhard Schubert GmbH and manages the subsidiary Schubert Packaging Systems as CEO. Peter focuses on further developing TLM technology (top-loading machines). Franziska, with her background in education, brings a social perspective and is responsible for the company’s sustainable management initiatives.

COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

With the ability to operate independently, comes the ability to run our own initiatives to lead through action, the vision we see for the industries we operate in and the organisations we partner with.

Mission Blue

Our aim is not for a recyclable economy, but a circular economy. This is the only feasible future for packaging. As much as we aim to support and educate our customers on how to operate within a circular economy, we know that starts with us. This is Mission Blue.

♻️ Building a climate-neutral office

Our office and production facility valued at €45 million, featuring the world’s largest ice thermal energy storage system.

Over 90% of our machine components are sourced from Germany, ensuring short delivery routes. Additionally, 53% of all parts are manufactured in-house within the Schubert Group.

♻️ Processing recyclable packaging materials

Such as cardboard and mono-material films with our machines.

Providing innovative, sustainable packaging solutions like the Dotlock system, which holds cartons together without glue. The new Dotlock closure system uses a special perforation (dots) to hold trays and outer packaging together.

♻️ Opening our company’s own daycare facility

In 2025, to support the balance and fulfilment of our staff we are opening our own daycare facility. This was the vision and long-cherished dream of our founder, Gerhard Schubert.
