The new company daycare centre – the “Schubert KinderCampus” – is a milestone in the long history of Gerhard Schubert GmbH. Franziska Schubert, social educator and project manager for sustainable corporate management, who is responsible for planning and organisation, explains: “As a family business, it is very important for us to help our employees and parents from Crailsheim with childcare. With the new daycare centre, we are also supporting our Mission Blue Sustainability Initiative by creating attractive, family-friendly workplaces and thereby enabling more equality.”
A perfect location – the new Schubert KinderCampus will be located directly across from Schubert Packaging Systems.
The first steps have been taken towards realising the daycare centre
In recent months, the first important steps for the new daycare centre were taken. Fortuitous circumstances enabled the acquisition of an existing building from a company friend with a spacious outdoor area and a small, wooded area. The building will be converted beginning in 2024 and is located in Werner-von-Siemens-Straße, directly opposite Schubert Packaging Systems. Schubert chose littlebigFuture gGmbH, an independent, non-profit organisation, as the childcare provider. The common values that the educational institution shares with Schubert were decisive to the decision. Franziska Schubert highlights: “With littlebigFuture, we have found an experienced partner who shapes children’s everyday life with a modern, child- and nature-oriented educational approach. The organisation aims to create an awareness of sustainability among the youngest members of our society, to enable them to experience nature and promote their creativity and technical understanding. This approach is, of course, entirely in line with our vision here at Schubert.”
And last but not least, a suitable name was agreed on: “Schubert KinderCampus”, in reference to the planned Gerhard Schubert Campus. It also conveys the importance of early childhood education. The future daycare centre should not only be a place where care is provided, but also education – where children, accompanied by educational specialists, can discover the world in a playful and safe way while acquiring valuable skills for the future.
The conversion of the existing building will be carried out in 2024, and the green spaces will be preserved. The preliminary ideas and drafts are available; the image above shows a sample plan.
The day-to-day life of the children in the new daycare centre will be shaped by a modern educational approach that is ideally suited to children and close to nature. This vision is also vividly expressed in the new logo.
